IPG’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) sought to use its unique platform to conduct a study about the impact and influence flexible work schedules – both formal and informal – have on job performance, office environments, and employee job satisfaction. To assist with this, KRC interviewed 4,380 employees (26% of all IPG employees) from 72 different companies across the network via an online survey. This research revealed important insights regarding access and availability of flexible work schedules and employee attitudes and assumptions about the benefits and drawbacks of flexible work schedules – across job functions, experience levels, companies, and generations. This research revealed important institutional and personal outlooks on the value of flexible work schedules and helped WLN understand what this means for the future of the 9 to 5.
