December 2018—A national KRC Research survey conducted for the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) assesses and profiles the transportation experiences and needs of older adults (60+) and younger adults with disabilities (18 to 59). The study, also conducted among transportation caregivers, finds that older adults and people with disabilities are facing significant transportation-related challenges once they no longer drive. They feel there is a lack of accessible and reliable transportation alternatives, which prevents them from doing the things they need and want to do and leaves them feeling frustrated, isolated and trapped. The report is available here.
